About Us
The Dzidefo women’s cooperative in Ghana produces delightful toddler’s clothing and personal accessories.
The co-op was established in 2008 with five original members working from the Ryvanz Mia Orphanage three days a week. With community and global support, the co-op continues to grow in its membership and product offerings.
Our Products
All members have a degree of proficiency as seamstresses, but Dzidefo requires a higher level of quality control than is the norm in Ghana. Each Dzidefo item is cut from a standard sized pattern with critical pattern placement, matching thread, lined bodices, finished seams and professional insertion of zippers and fasteners. Each co-op member is versed in these requirements. Dzidefo uses only 100% Ghanaian cotton, indigo patterns and custom designed batiks.
Our Future
The Dzidefo women are producing well-made items now and our goal is to develop these women into independent business women. With the demand and markets they have at present, this is completely feasible and they agree this is the next step!
